Pukwaska National Park

Thunder Bay was our first 'town' experience in Canada, and also our first experience which was totally devoid of anything praiseworthy. Or even anything worth mentioning. It was an ugly, industrial town, which didn't even have any flowers planted anywhere. No hang baskets. No grass growing. Tall unkept weeds, bleak buildings, houses with neither grass nor flowers, just dirty, weedy. We saw from afar one park, down on the Lake, but it was teeny, and squeezed in between all the industrial and shipping stuff on the lake. So enough about Thunder Bay. We stayed 2 nights there, got the wash done, found a very strange little walmart, and stocked up on stuff, and got out of town. And we were lucky enough to get to Pukwaska National Park when there were a couple of sites vacant. They don't take reservations. And it has so far been the highpoint of this trip. We had a site with electrical hookups; and it was very very humid, so it felt good at night to turn on the AC. These are scenes from our hikes we took while there. Pukwaska is situated on a beautiful cove of Lake Superior. The water is crystal clear. Except that there's no shells, coral, or fish near the beach, it'd be great snorkeling water. The third, fourth and fifth pictures are from a scenic overlook, and we are in the mountains, as it looks like. But our elevation was never more than 1200 ft., and usually several hundred feet less.
