Above is a good view of our campground at Two Harbors, across a cove.
After we left Frontenac, we had already decided to avoid Minneapolis, St. Paul. And we did, as much as possible. But we found out that just like in Cloudcroft and Ruidoso (for those of you at home), when it's summer here, they do maintenance on ALL the roads possible. So the construction delays, and detours abound! We skirted MSP, and then left our (by then) beloved MS River, in exchange for the St. Croix River. Spent an uneventful night in Taylor Falls, MN, with full hookups so we could catch up on chores. Caught up on some shopping in North Branch, on I-35, and then headed back north up toward Duluty, away from any water for the first time in a long time!! We had intended to stay a couple of nights in Duluth, see a couple of things Dick had found interesting, and catch up on walmart stuff. But the only site with vacancies was about 30 miles from the lake, and Dick wanted to stay near Lake Superior. So we got caught up in construction and didn't even find a walmart, just agonizingly made it north, past Duluth, and suddenly found ourselves driving up alongside beautiful Lake Superior. Campsites were at a premium here. First of all, unavailable, and second, expensive and teeny tiny if they were available. But we found a vacancy right on the lake in Two Harbors, and it was a lucky stroke. Cause it's a beautiful little town, with 4 museums, lots of things to tour and see, and beautiful walks along the lake. The picture above is the beach at our campground. I think that is the campground in the background where you see RV's.
