As we continue North up the MS River

And this is Dick after our hike down the bluff to the River. Great workout!
This is the town of Red Wing, MN, which is where Red Wing boots are made. You can see w/o my saying anything what a beautiful town it is.

We decided to stay near Lake City, and the next tiny town was Frontenac. There was a state park there which had no hookups, but had a site available. So we spent 2 nights there. It was extremely peaceful and quiet, and a wonderful tree-y campsite. The next day we decided to hike down to the River. but it was 400' straight (it seemed) down, and then back up. Turned out to be a long hike, through the park picnic ground, and all around. And we were soaked when we got back to the RV.

I can see that this can't be read w/o a magnifying glass, but the geology of this area is also very interesting. Seems there was lots of glacier activity, and a huge sea here some billions of years ago.
